2. PRODUCT HANDLING - ROW REMOVAL

DS300

Top of the range system designed for 24/7 operation. Cantilevered frame, automatic belt tensioning and tracking allows for belt removal and cleaning in a fraction of the time other systems take.

CDS ensures that a product row is always available for a wrapping leg to take when there is wrapping capacity to handle it. The system’s intelligence reacts to missing rows and wrapping machine stoppages to recreate the perfect row feed conditions for the remaining wrapping capacity.Rows are automatically re-pitched, accelerated or held in suspense. Bar rows going into storage can be fed back to the preceding wrapping leg without inhibiting the oncoming product rows. No need for expensive FIFO storage systems
The main features are:

  • Accumulate and Recycle rows during production to balance the wrapping machine line
  • Pneumatic tensioning of belts
  • Speed up to 135Rows/min
  • Extractable transport belt: by sliding, wide and long belts in very short time (2 minutes)
    and without tools.
  • Extractable Trolley: the heart of the distribution system, the product transfer trolley can be
unplugged and removed from the line for cleaning, during production to the other wrapping
lines, without tools and in couple of minutes.
  • A standby trolley can be replaced without stopping the production line.

Distribution methods

Indirect Transfer – The rows of products are transferred first to the receiving belt and then to the exit belt towards the packaging line. Suitable to softer products and shorter lines that require very limited speed fluctuation (i.e. hot sealing film)
Soft Transfer – This method is used to transfer rows when the products are extremely delicate. With this method the whole frame of the receiving belt (or exit belt) moves sideways for an extremely delicate transfer of the row of products.

DS50

Eminently accessible for cleaning.

Direct Transfer – The rows of products are transferred directly from the main belt to the exit belt towards the packaging line. Suitable to hard products and longer packaging line that can accept
speed fluctuation (i.e. cold sealing film)

3. PRODUCT HANDLING - FEEDERS

Various Feeders for Flow-Wrapper Machines

Multi-Pack Feeders

FEEDERS

Between any Distribution System and the wrapping machines, product rows have their gaps closed, product re-orientated and pitched with the wrapper chain on the feeding system. Inspection devices and metal check units can be incorporated whilst maintaining a consistent gapless feed to the wrapping machine.

SFS (Side Feeding Systems)

Where space constraints dictate a wrapping machine layout at right angles to the feeding system, electronic feed system HI-FEED 90°/110º separates on-coming bar rows for direct transfer to the wrapping machine in feed via an overhead transfer chain with lugs. Pressure-less accumulation guarantees a smooth transfer of products without friction.

For every belt the frame is cantilevered and includes the quick release system to replace the belt. The tensioning arm includes the memory feature that allows to remove all the single parts of the belt for cleaning or maintenance procedures and reassemble them without any additional adjustment.

The nose rollers are obtained with lubricated idle rollers to avoid any friction with the belt (that causes heat) and extend the shelf-life of the belt. The tensioning roller is coated with a shrunk Teflon sleeve to avoid chocolate or crumbs build-up. A belt scraper and a catch tray for crumbs complete the unit. The transport belts are FDA approved.

FHS (In-line Feeding Systems)

The in-line feeder is used where delicate products has to be transferred to the wrapping machine or when high speed is required.
Can include closing gaps belts, orienting unit, metal detector, product size inspection, all integrated and synchronised though servomotors.
All belts are cantilevered with quick removing feature.

Options available:

  • twin feeder for double side to side products in the pack
  • grouping products for one behind the other in the pack

SGO - In-Line Pile Feeder

  • To be used in line at high speed when a single or double layers are required
  • Multiple piles possibility with the interface chain
  • Servo-motors controlled by the wrapping machine
  • Easy changeover formats electronically memorized in the wrapping machine
  • Possibility to add also the cardboard for products protection

HRT - Collecting Unit for Multipack Feeding

  • Utilized to receive continuous single line of products and deliver multiple products in intermittent or continuous way
  • Typically utilized as feed of Multipack Flow-Pack Wrappers
  • Can handle flat products as well as on edge products, provided by the twisted inspection and feeding belt
  • Buckets driven by timing belt for precise movement, with easy changeover configuration

MGL - Multipack Grouping and Labeling System

  • Create Multipack without a secondary wrapping machine
  • The packages are kept together through bottom and top labels
  • High flexibility for product dimensions and quantity of packages in a group
  • Utilized to receive continuous single line of products and deliver multiple products in
